Field Technician
An opportunity has arisen to support our Construction Materials Testing business as a Field Technician.
You will be based at our Airdrie Laboratory in Central Scotland where you will be given the opportunity to work on some of the UKs largest projects, testing a wide range of construction materials. Consideration will be given to experienced field technicians and candidates without experience as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities and Activities:
· Sampling and testing of various construction materials e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt
· Completion of test sheets and data entry into tablets
· Liaise with senior members of staff on work schedules and projects
· Work within in-house QA systems
· Maintain high levels of health and safety compliance in line with company policies
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
· Good communication skills both written and verbal
· Good attention to detail
· UK driving licence
· Manual handling and physical activity is a daily requirement – Samples can weigh in excess of 15kg
· Must be confident to work in a team environment and comfortable working alone
· Self-motivated, proactive and able to organise own workloads
Desirable
· Previous experience in a UKAS accredited testing environment
· Knowledge of testing standards and processes
· CSCS Card
Qualifications:
GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
