EOD / Survey Engineer
Igne are seeking a Survey Engineer to join the team based in Gillingham, Kent. The Survey Engineer will conduct unexploded ordnance magnetometry surveys, for a variety of projects, including construction, infrastructure, and land development. The role involves performing precise data collection, whilst executing surveys that may involve subsurface investigations (intrusive) or surface level (non-intrusive), utilising both handheld equipment and operated rigs. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams to ensure accurate and actionable results while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
This is a full-time role, with travel across the UK as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out intrusive and non-intrusive survey works. Operators are to be competent in all UXO survey methodologies.
- Carry out the recording, use, basic level interpretation and have an understanding of all non-intrusive and intrusive survey systems. This will include the data inputting, recording and use of proprietary and manufactured systems.
- Carry out all works including (but not limited to), ESOPs, project instructions, method statements etc.
- Set up and carry out non-intrusive surveys being walking or towed.
- Be able to operate and record intrusive surveys.
- Act as the principal point of contact for site works for all client and third-party interface.
- Complete all documentation requirements for each project to include dynamic risk assessments, COSHH assessments, daily diaries, daily work records, a comprehensively completed document control form, variations (in the event of scope changes throughout the project) etc.
- Identify changes and variations on site that may have commercial, operational or time frame impacts for Igne, reporting them through to our Head Office immediately.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Utilizing IT hardware and software in the collection of raw data
- Working in a construction environment
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- A minimum of 2 years data collecting / recording data (desirable)
- Valid CSCS card
- UXO survey methodologies
- AGS software
- Land based ammunition and delivery systems
- Experience with setting up and recording non-intrusive and intrusive data
